My Specialisms
Everyone’s story is unique. Over the years I’ve trained in a range of approaches and supported people with many different challenges. Some areas have become strengths and interests in my practice - not because I set out to specialise in them, but because they come up so often in the therapy room and I’ve developed experience and knowledge in supporting people with them.
EMDR Therapy
I use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) as a core part of my practice, helping clients work through difficult or painful experiences, reduce distress, and build a stronger sense of resilience, always at a pace that feels safe for you.
Remote Therapy (Telephone & Video)
I originally trained in telephone counselling and worked this way for over five years. To ensure I could offer the safest, most effective remote support, I also completed an 80-hour training course in online and telephone therapy, covering both phone and video work. When Covid shifted most therapy online, this training allowed me to refresh and deepen my skills. Many clients find remote therapy more flexible and less daunting, giving them space to talk openly from the comfort of home.
Managing Worry & Overwhelm
Perhaps your mind feels “always on,” or you find yourself stuck in cycles of worry and overthinking. Life’s pressures can leave us exhausted and tense. Therapy can help you understand what’s happening beneath the surface, calm the nervous system, and explore practical ways to create more balance and ease in daily life.
ADHD & Neurodiversity
I have experience working with clients who live with ADHD or traits of ADHD, as well as those who identify as neurodiverse. Therapy can be a supportive space to explore challenges such as overwhelm, racing thoughts, self-criticism, or difficulties in relationships. Together we can also focus on recognising and building your strengths, developing strategies that fit your unique brain, and creating more balance in everyday life.
Self-Worth & Confidence
Perhaps you often put others first, doubt yourself, or feel held back by old beliefs. Low self-esteem or self-criticism can affect many areas of life and leave you feeling stuck. In our sessions we can explore where these feelings come from, gently re-evaluate the patterns that keep you small, and build on the strengths you already have so you can feel more confident, valued, and at ease in yourself.
Relationships & Boundaries
Difficulties in relationships - with partners, family, friends, or colleagues - are a common reason people come to therapy. I can support you to explore how past experiences may be shaping current patterns, and to build healthier boundaries and more fulfilling connections.
These are the areas I work with most often in my practice, but you don’t need to fit neatly into a box. If something here resonates - or if you’re not sure where to begin, you’re welcome to get in touch to arrange a free, no-obligation consultation and we can talk it through together.
